Fillers

What results can I expect?

An instant lift with a fresher, younger appearance. The results with Dr Wilson look completely natural and typically last 9-12 months.

How do they work?

Fillers (such as Teosyal and Juvederm) are made of a naturally occurring substance called hyaluronic acid, which hydrates and plumps the skin by improving its ability to retain water. Over time, the body loses it’s own hyaluronic acid and the skin starts to sag and forms wrinkles and folds. Fillers replace the lost hyaluronic acid to restore volume and shape. The fillers are available in syringes and are gently injected into the areas of the face where they are needed. Areas that can be treated include; brows, nose, lips, jawline, cheeks, chin and tear trough.

Profilo, a 2018 Aesthetic Award winner, is an thermally stable ultrapure hyaluronic acid indicated for treatment skin laxity of the face, neck and body. This is a firm favourite of Dr Wilson’s and does what it promises- soft focus.

Is the treatment painful?

Fillers are injected with tiny needles and contain local anaesthetic so that the treatments are almost painless.

Are there any side effects?

Hyaluronic acid fillers are safe and fully reversible. There may be some localised redness, tenderness, swelling and bruising but these tend to be very mild and temporary. As with all injections, there is a risk of infection, but this is very rare. More serious side effects and allergic-type reactions are extremely rare.

How much do fillers cost?

Dr Wilson offers a free consultation at her Belfast clinic, and treatments cost from £300.
